Flugelbinder Press is the brainchild of British sisters, Karen and Julia, a dynamic duo fueled by creativity and a dash of daring. Our journey began with Karen's passion for outdoor adventures and Julia's love of, well, organizing everything with her trusty lists.
With over three decades of combined experience in the publishing world, starting as teens at a local newspaper, we know a thing or two about crafting stories and bringing ideas to life. Karen's long-held dream of her 'flugelbinder' moment—a nod to that iconic scene from 'Cocktail' (if you know, you know!)—sparked the birth of our company name. (For the uninitiated, a quick Google will reveal all!)
But we're not just about paper and lists anymore! We've taken our creative spirit and channeled it into a collection of unique, sassy, and trending clothing. Think bold designs, empowering styles, and pieces that let you express your inner rebel (or your inner trendsetter, depending on the day!).
Based in the beautiful south-east of England, we're perfectly positioned for exploring the UK and beyond. Karen is the elder and (sometimes) wiser of the two sisters. Her full-time job is the General Manager of a large format print company in Essex.
Having been hyper-alert to danger ever since she was a kid, she naturally also became the Health and Safety Manager for the same organisation.
She is also the brains behind the name Flugelbinder Press since driving her sister mad trying to find her fortune-making invention.
Karen loves walking, hiking and outdoor pursuits. She was keen to preserve her memories of her recent hikes of Snowdon and the Old Man of Coniston but couldn't find anything that curated all the content she wanted to record.

Julia is the baby of the family. She is a journalist and works for the UK's leading local news, information and community platform, InYourArea.co.uk as the Head of Insights.
As well as being an analytical thinker she also has a creative side, enjoying art and graphic design. She swears by to-do lists and always strives for efficiency.
Julia loves a spreadsheet and as an editor has a superb eye for detail. Her passion is her family.
She enjoys nothing more than seeing them happy and would do anything to help make that happen - Including starting a business with her sister to help her 'flugelbinder' dreams come true.
